Beginning his career documenting artists’ stories on Vibe magazine, he later began to practice digital storytelling and marketing for Billboard and Roc Nation shortly after. LNL: What is the best advice you’ve heard so far?
P.P Learn the game and form genuine connections. Find ways to provide value.
LNL: In your career -- what has been your proudest achievement so far?
P.P: Launching top performing OG Latin campaigns for Vevo + providing my company with different techniques and style with live social coverage for events like Latin Billboards.
LNL: What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned about your Latinidad and the workplace?
There’s a sense of community and understanding that comes with working with Latinx colleagues but more importantly, we are behind some of the culture’s biggest world wide moments
LNL: Tell us, how do you tap into your creativity?
P.P: I make mental (sometimes physical) notes of random things I’d like to see that I haven’t seen when it comes to consuming content. Then I work backwards filling in the blanks by talking to friends, family or just keeping an idea in mind.
LNL: What’s next, what are you looking forward to?
P.P I’m excited to keep learning the music industry and understanding the business behind the music and how to communicate the culture in authentic ways.
LNL: What’s the one thing no one told you about being a leader?
P.P: To lead successfully, you need to really understand who you’re leading and their strengths & be able to clearly convey where you’re heading with your goals.
